The institute is recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra vide its G.R.No.wbp-2001/(47/01)/vya shi-5 dt.19th July, 2002.as autonomous institute to go for Centre of Excellence in NPIU scheme . This was based on an independent survey done by Tata Consultancy Services Mumbai to identify three top class institutes in the state.

The institute has supported faculty to do research. Twenty five faculty members have completed their Ph.D. in various disciplines under Quality Improvement Scheme from premier institutes. Faculty and staff of this institute have published about 1200 research and technical papers, articles in National and International level journals and conference proceedings etc.

Ten products are developed. Out of fifteen entrepreneurs develop two have been developed based on their UG/PG projects. Two of them have crossed a turnover of Rs. Two Crores / year.

Good number of training programmes, seminars, workshops and conferences are organized on the subjects of current and social importance for the agriculturists, educationists, students, doctors etc.

The institute has signed MOU with UNESCO supported continuing engineering education center of Monash University, Melbourne, Kalyani Net Ventures,. Pune, Shivam Computers Pvt.Ltd., Pune, Sungrace Group of Industries, Pune. Informal tie ups are also developed with organizations such as I.I.T., Bombay (Mumbai), Kharagpur, New Delhi, EDII, Ahmedabad, NIESBUD, New Delhi, VNIT, Nagpur, Thermal Power Station, Parli, WALMI, Aurangabad, Siemens India Ltd., Mumbai, VJTI, Mumbai, various sugar industries and textile mills in the region, etc. Good number of M.E. and Ph.D. dissertations are based on industrial problems.

Through the institute is situated in remote place strong linkage is established with premier institutes and industries as IIT’S, NITIE, REC’S, EDII, Monash University, Bristol University, London, University of Pennsylvania, Swiss, Institute of Information Technology, Switzerland , CWI, Netherlands, NTU, Singapore, University de Paris, France Bahar dar University, Ethiopia, Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Tech University, Malaysia, Karlshru University Germany, Bharat Forge Ltd., Pune, Badve group of Industries, Aurangabad, Kinetic Engineering. Ltd. Ahmedabad, Simence Ltd., Mumbai, Government Milk Scheme, Aurangabad, NTC Mill , Nanded.

The college has printed an information brochure, designed a website and preparing an interactive CD to attract international community.

The EDC of this institute which is unique of its kind in the state of Maharashtra has organized number of programmes for rural youths in the region. It has also provided escort services to entrepreneurs for establishment of the unit. Hence, it is recognized as an outstanding Entrepreneurship Development Cell in the country by Department of Science and Technology Institute has organized a conference on ‘Development of Marathwada through Science and Technology’ with the support of statutory Development Board of Marathwada. As per the recommendations of this conference a Technology council is established in this board.

Introduction of PG in Mechanical-CAD/CAM.

Introduced four years Degree Course in Information Technology and Sugar Technology.

Increase in intake of Electronics and Telecommunication from 60 to 120, Computer Science Engineering from 60 to 90.

Increase in intake from 30 to 40 in Instrumentation, Production, Civil-Water Management.

Increase of intake from 15 to 30 of Textile Technology.

Faculty have chaired sessions and worked as members of review committee in number of national and international conferences.

Faculty have worked as referees on international journals.

Faculty work as examiners for PG Dissertations and Ph. D. theses.
