Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering & Technology, Nanded was established on 17th December 1981. This institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, Govt. of India, New Delhi and receives 100% Grant-in-aid from Government of Maharashtra. It is governed by Shri Guru Gobind Singhji College of Engineering & Technology, Nanded society. This trust is registered under the Society Registration act 1960 with the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai as ex-officio Chairman and the Principal as Secretary. The other members are nominated by the Government of Maharashtra, on three years tenure basis. It is spread over 46 acres of land which is donated by Sant Baba Harnam Singh Langer Saheb Gurudwara Trust. The institute is affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded.
